Statement of significance:

SIGNIFICANCE - 1993: The schoolteacher's house has been an important part of the village streetscape for over 100 years.
It is evident from the size and quality of the house that the schoolteacher's position was that of a leader of the community.
The fine construction of the house demonstrates the high skills of building craftsmen available in the district 100 years ago.
It is rare to find a house built with a separate kitchen wing, in which the kitchen wing has survived intact.
LEVEL of SIGNIFICANCE - 1993: Local Significance - high
Date significance updated: 15 May 08
