The movable items are of considerable local significance as in the brick-built former Power House structure. Internal fabric of note.

Description

Physical description: Corrugated iron sheds and open yards, brick built former Power House, former J. and A. Brown Hexham Engineering air and steam drop hammers and forge.

History

Historical notes: J. and A. Brown's Hexham Engineering Works was opened in the 1890s to supplement the Minmi works. Now Reliance Engineering, the works still repair mining equipment and contain several drop hammers from the first years of operation.
