History

Historical notes: The Tarcuttah [later Borambola] run was taken up in the 1830s by George Macleay, son of Colonial Secretary Alexander Macleay. Later owned by John Gordon [1851] and John Donnelly [1865]. Donnelly commissioned Wagga
builder Charles Hardy to build him this residence in 1878. In 1895 the property was taken over by Goldsborough Mort in a foreclosure and managed by J.A. Gunn, later sold to Simpson. It was subdivided in 1910 and and again in 1961 when the owner, W.P. Hughes, split it up into 13 blocks. Further subdivision has reduced the property to 109 acres [44 hal. The original road runs between the present Slurt Highway and the homestead entrance gates.
