Description

Physical description: What's on the ground?
The Aboriginal burial site contains the ancestral remains of Aboriginal people. Evidence of past Aboriginal occupation (campsites evidenced by shell middens and stone artefact scatters) can be found in the local area.

Nature of the environment
The small area that comprises the repatriation site is close to Towra Beach. Local vegetation is dominated by sclerophyll forest and includes Coast Banksia and Tea Tree.

Current use: Located within the Towra Point Nature Reserve, a protected area managed for the conservation of natural and cultural heritage. Access to the reserve is restricted in order to reduce the impact of people on its fragile ecosystems.
