The Britannia is believed to have been wrecked at Elizabeth Reef off the New South Wales coast on 25 August 1806 while under the command of Capt Nathaniel Goodspeed. The 301 ton vessel was operating as a whaler after earlier being used for convict transport.

The wooden ship was built at Bridgeport in the United Kingdom in 1783.
